He got them away from Crocodiles, rhinos, and snakes with ease, not to mention the dangers of the jungle that don’t involve animals. The men tried to double cross Bill, but he had lead them in a large circle, and they ended up right where they started, where he had reinforcements.

He gets so many customers that he has to outsource his repairs. That is how a pair of crooks get their hands on the cameras, from inside jail and begin to tamper with them, putting in small bits of kyrptonite that activate every time the camera flashed. Weakened by the radiation Superboy promises a photoshoot if they leave the building that he was holding up. At the photoshoot a large rocket was going to be fired at him and was to catch it. But before the rocket even arrived Clark collapsed on the ground. With the rocket coming Clark couldn’t let his spectators die and so with the last of his strength he gets onto the rocket’s fin and moves it so he shoots into the sky, and then he stops a break out at the jail.

Aquaman

A ‘did I really time travel or did i dream it’ story, like we’ve all seen a hundred times. Aquaman was sent to the stone age and they asked him to help them cross a section of ocean. These animals didn’t obey Aquaman so he lassoed one and broke it that way, and then he and the men each grabbed hold of a tentacle and knotted up the octopus. Then he woke up,/ returned home.

He couldn’t afford much, not even a stunt man. So Johnny says he’ll be Hermes, and he makes fantastic sets and effects that would be impossible without expensive equipment otherwise. They make the entire movie, only to find out that they had been taping it on exposed film. Thankfully one of Johnny’s admirers had been sneaking about all issue, and had the whole thing on tape.

Batman

First thing I got to say here is, we are so far back there isn’t even an arkham yet. Everyone goes to jail, but in this tale the Joker convinces a judge he is insane. (really? they never thought that before? I mean he’s not the modern Joker, but he clearly nuts.) He has done this because he wanted to find out where another inmate had hidden his loot. So Batman goes in undercover as a mind reader and seemingly tricks the clown. But no, it is Bruce who has been tricked, for the Joker guessed he was Batman! He tied him up in a water tight room and turned on a faucet and left. Batman used a ventilator to project his voice, saying that Robin should watch below for the Joker. The madman returns to Bruce and finds, not the mind reader he had tied up- but Bruce Wayne! He is so close to figuring everything out, when and inmate who believes himself to be Batman enters the room! It turns into a clusterfuck of identities, with everyone being accused of being Batman and Bruce himself is thought to be the Joker. But Robin arrives and everything gets sorted out.

Alfred apparently looks quite like a criminal that Batman once put away. While making a film about the case Alfred gets cast in the part. It’s great to see Alfred be introduced to Batman, and basically I’m laughing the entire story because of things like that. But the actual criminal escapes jail and plans to take Alfred’s place and really kill the Batman. But…

As a people we generally root for the underdog, but there are always those who treat those they see as below them as trash. In this tale a small man who was the waterboy for the prison baseball team (I think it was baseball, truly unimportant.) was basically told that was all he was good for. Well he decided to run a series of water based crimes. First he escaped by having the water tower break over the wall while he was in it, the he used ‘hard water’ an explosive to blow a bank vault. Eventually he decided that Batman was too big a nuisance  and he had to go. He looked over a map of the rivers in the area, for it is well known that the Batcave has a river run through it. By going underground with the river he actually made it to the cave. Once there though, Batman was able to capture him.

Captain Marvel Adventures

So here we meet someone we will be dealing with for the next few issues. His name is the Red Crusher and he leads the army of some unknown Communist country. He comes on to the scene with powerful weapons that are huge spike balls, that when hit explode. When investigating as Billy, he gets captured and tied to one of them. The American forces had but up barbed wire as an attempt to stop the balls without making them go off. Billy was able to cut his gag on it and shout his word, before gathering up all the balls and destroying where they were made.

Billy goes outside one day and runs into a huge spider-web. So he changes to Cap and begins to free people across town. That night he is walking around and he is captured by a gigantic Spider! But it turns out to be a robot, and this guy is capturing people so they will be his slaves. He was going to kill Billy as an example, but missed and cut his gag. Then Cap came and freed everybody. Pa Potter was working in his yard at the end and it was said that even though he was working just as hard, this time he was working for himself and that made all the difference. I liked that.

Some dude was pulling a rabbit from his hat, and Billy said it was old stuff. The guy got mad an made hundreds of rabbits appear. The only way Billy could think of to stop them was to put on the hat! Because he was mad he also took Captain Marvel’s reflection and had him commit crimes. Cap finds the guy in a cave where he is asking if he can now become a real wizard. Billy makes a noise and is found, he is bound and gagged and as a joke turned into a monster. Using his new teeth Billy cuts the gag and yells his word, then uses the dude’s wand to send back his refection and stop the rabbits. And then he punches the guy.
