Marvel Family
There are few heroes that already have a nemesis but you have to admit that the Sivana family definitely fit that criteria for the Marvels eh? In this lovely story each of the Sivanas take a different “kingdom” Jr has the sea, Georgia the air, and their father has the land. When confronted by their heroes they tossed shaman lightning at them that they had stolen from the rock of eternity. Then they knocked out Billy, Mary, and Freddy and put them in a situation where they would die. But of course our babies use their brains and are able to free themselves and then save the world from the evil Sivanas.
There is also a Captain Marvel Jr tale after this but it is illegible
Phantom Stranger
This is the last issue of Phantom Stranger.
So we start off with a tale about some jewels that are cursed and always kill their owner. Hearing of this the Secretary of the man who currently owned the jewels asked PS and a sceptic to hopefully summon the previous owners of the gems and have them remove the curse. All three people in the room experienced something different. One was very scientific, one most magical, and the Phantom Stranger found it to be very normal. What had happened was the skeptic turned off the light and let in his followers, disguised as they were. They left with the jewels and the skeptic shut the door behind them. PS followed and figured it all out and had all those involved arrested.
Phantom Stranger has turned actor in this tale. He is playing himself in a film about a magic doorway in the sky that goes to another dimension or something. The point is that the leading lady feels as though something is going to go wrong and in the next take there is an accident that could have killed her. After another near death experience the actress quits but PS tells her to hold on. He confronts the camera man who had not turned on hos camera for the two scenes and learned he had been paid by the lady’s understudy to scare her off.
Finally a man who worked in an iron mine claimed that he had seen elves. Of course everyone kinda laughed it off but one of his friends offered to bring his camera down that night. Imagine his surprise when he too saw elves. They stole his camera and were going to attack him when Phantom Stranger came out of nowhere with a sword. Later on of the things came by the guys house to return his camera, with the film destroyed of course. The two people, beings? (Since PS origin is still unknown) head out to the mine again this time dressed in armor and they chase the elves back to where they came from.
Strange Adventures
Adam is on a sea cruise and one of the fishermen bring up a freaking gigantic fish which they identify as a minnow. They speculate that it may have been mutated by the near by atom testing. Well Adam doesn’t accept that and climbed on to the taboo island that night. There he found many animals that were not the size they should have been. He is told by a man on this island that he had developed a ray that could change sizes and that it had been stolen by the super intelligent bees on the island. Going to check this out he finds all the missing men from the area had been shrunk and hypnotized and now worked for the bees. He figured out that the bees actually worked for the man on the island and confronted him, causing the scientist and the ray machine to fall off a cliff. They rats wore off and the island was no longer taboo.
Whiz Comics
Weep. Weep my friends. This is the last issue of Whiz comics, and so we must say goodbye to Ibis and Taia for they shall not appear for many years after this point. And I’m not even sure that we ever see the earth s versions again.
Captain Marvel
Lately there have been many disappearances from Billy’s home town. He goes out to where the people had been taken and is amazed to find that a giant bat tries to poison him with its stinger (what?) And carry him off. Well he changes to Cap and he fights off the bat and saves the others who the bats were trying to grab from around him. The next day he allowed himself to be stung and taken. The poison paralyzed him so he could not speak his word. He is brought to a cave where there are lines and lines of people laid out upon slabs of ice and finds out they are to be food for the kracken. Once he is free from the paralysis he shouts his word and lights a fire to kill the bats and free the people and tossed the kracken to the Sahara.

Ibis
A group of explorers finally break into the tomb of En-tep, the cruelest of all the pharoes. Naturally they bring the mummy and artifacts to Prince Ibis as he is an expert in ancient Egypt. That’s all well and good until somone turns up dead. They chase the killer but are unable to find them. So naturally Ibis summons the spirit of the dead pharaoh and finds out that the guardians of the tomb actually guard his body. Ibis and Gaia go back into the room to find more of thw guards trying to kill a man so Ibis burns the mummy to ash and it loses its power.
World’s Finest
Superman
Lois is investigating an insurance company and she overheard that they are starting to worry about her. The boss is all ‘nah dont worry about it we’ll just capture her and then we can use her against Superman.’ Lois knew she couldn’t let that happen and decided to fake her own death so as not to drag the kryptonian down. So dying her hair and changing its style and puttimg on glasses she goes back to the planet as Perry’s new secretary. Clark suggests that the new girl pretend to be Lois so as to scare the insurance company. He slightly needles Lois the entire time and after they have solved the case she breaks and admits she’s Lois. He tells her he had know the whple time and that she had helped him so she could forget about being a drag and that even if she was he was happier with her there.
Green Arrow
There was a gang boss that suspected Oliver Queen was the Green Arrow. I have no idea how he thought up a silly thing like that! 😉 To got his final bit of proof he was following Oliver around and saw the man have a run in with a car. During this incident Oliver’s arm was fractured. Thinking the Green Arrow injured he and his men pulled another job. GA did the best he could, using rocker propelled arrows so all he had to do was aim. However he and Speedy failed to catch the crooks, though they didn’t get away with the loot. At the next job though they got the drop on GA and to save his life Speedy gave himself up. Oliver was put in a room with a slightly leaking container of gas and they began to stuff newspapers in the cracks. GA pulled them out on his side and saw that a criminal had been apprehended and had confessed to all his crimes. So when they opened the door GA proved to the man that he wasn’t Oliver Queen by showing his arm was definitely not broken. Turns out he had evidence on the captured crook and had hidden it in his cast. Plus he had noted his shadow earlier and wanted to keep his id safe.
Batman
This was a fun one folks. An ex detective and an ex racketeer make a bet that the next person to walk in the club could/couldn’t be trained as a detective. Of course the next person to come is was Bruce Wayne himself. Because the proceeds go to charity and he respected the old detective Bruce agreed. There were a few times Bruce slipped and showed hos true skill, but he was able to talk his way out of it. There were also times when he had to do something detectivey because he had to get away to answer the batsignal. As his final test they asked Bruce to bring in the criminal known as the shark. But Gordon was using thaf particular crook to bait a trap. So he instead brought an envelope with Batman’s finger prints and confirmed them in his other identity. Taking that as proof of his skill the detective won the bet.
Kid Colt Outlaw
Our Marvel this time starts of a bit dark. In this story a outlaw takes a liking to Steel, Kid’s horse, and decides to take him for his own. Colt is shot off his horse and the hustlers take off after the steed leaving Colt where he lay. Well they caught Steel, but the leader who had wanted him so was unable to make Steel bend to his will. So he beat and burned and basically almost killed the creature before deciding to sell him for horse meat. Thankfully Kid was in the crowd and bought back his faithful steed and then killed the entire gang that had harmed his horse.
This one was much lighter than the previous one. It begins with the arrival of an Eastern lass who finds the west to be mighty uncivilized. Two men speak rudely of her and so she demands an apology, which Kid forces them to give. Then as she rides off to her uncles place he decides to keep an eye on her. Good thing to as he horse bucks her off and them those men from before try to kill her. But he saw her safely home with a better understanding of the wild west.
Finally Kid sees a fire on the horizon and he knows its no brush fire. A whole town is a flame and he rides toward it, rallying those who were fleeing to help make a for brigade. When this was set up he rose into town to help those who had been trapped in the fire. From on of thoae he rescued he hears tale of a terrible plot to hijack a supply train and hold it for ransom. Well Colt won’t exactly let that stand so he runs off and retakes the train.
